The Role

About Lord Abbett

Lord Abbett is a global, active asset manager, founded in 1929. As an independent, private partnership, we think in decades, not quarters. That long-term perspective shapes how we invest, how we build our business, and how we develop our people.

Today, we serve clients around the world with investment capabilities across public and private markets. We build with intention, focusing our expertise where we believe active management can make a difference. Our independence gives us the freedom to think differently, invest for the long term, and act decisively when opportunities emerge.

The same principles shape how we work. We set high standards, value independent thinking, and expect people to take real ownership of their work. We invest in people who are curious, collaborative, and motivated to make an impact for our clients and the firm.

Lord Abbett is seeking motivated, intellectually curious individuals with a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality work to join our Technology Associate Program. This entry-level opportunity provides hands-on experience applying technology to real-world challenges within the asset management industry.

Technology Associates will work alongside experienced professionals across Lord Abbett's Technology organization, contributing to meaningful initiatives that support our investment capabilities, business operations, and enterprise technology infrastructure. Through practical experience, mentorship, and professional development, Associates will strengthen their technical expertise, expand their understanding of the business, and build a foundation for a long-term career in technology.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Contribute to high-impact technology initiatives by developing, enhancing, and supporting solutions that address business challenges and deliver value to stakeholders.
  • Apply technical skills across areas such as software engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems, depending on team needs and project assignments.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing improvement of technology solutions, following industry best practices and established development methodologies.
  • Collaborate with technology professionals, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot challenges, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Explore emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to identify opportunities for innovation, automation, efficiency, and improved business outcomes.
  • Develop an understanding of the asset management industry, including investment processes, client services, and corporate functions, and how technology supports the firm's broader objectives.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities while actively seeking feedback, mentorship, and opportunities to strengthen technical and professional skills.

You'll need to have:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming or scripting languages, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Terraform or PowerShell, or demonstrated interest and foundational knowledge in cybersecurity or related technology disciplines.
  • Foundational understanding of software development concepts and modern technology environments, including databases, cloud platforms, networks, operating systems, or APIs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research, troubleshoot, and develop effective solutions to technical challenges.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable, with a willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, articulate ideas clearly, and work across teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in learning about the asset management industry and the evolving role of technology within financial services.
  • Start Date: July 2027
