The Role

The Head of Global Event Management is a strategic and operational leader responsible for defining and delivering Lord Abbett’s global events strategy in alignment with the firm’s business objectives and brand vision.

Reporting to the Head of Brand, this individual will oversee a team of three direct reports and a network of external partners to deliver high-impact, high-touch client, executive, and employee experiences. This role oversees a wide range of virtual and in-person events, including client meetings, conferences, event sponsorships, corporate offsites, trainings, webinars, and firm-wide events.

The Head of Global Event Management serves as a key ambassador for Lord Abbett’s brand — ensuring every event reflects the firm’s values, client-centric culture, and commitment to excellence — and playing a vital role in advancing the firm’s reputation and relationships worldwide.

We’ll trust you to:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global events strategy that aligns with the firm’s goals, brand positioning, and client engagement objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of three direct reports, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Partner with senior leaders, including Marketing, Client Solutions, and Investment teams, to ensure event programs drive business impact and strengthen key relationships.
  • Represent the Global Events function as part of the Brand leadership team, ensuring integration with firm-wide marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with best-in-class external vendors within the events and hospitality space

Operational Excellence:

  • Deliver end-to-end white-glove event experiences — from concept and design through execution and post-event analysis — across client meetings, conferences, offsites, trainings, and sponsorships.
  • Ensure a consistently high level of high-touch service that reflects Lord Abbett’s reputation for excellence and client focus on every touchpoint.
  • Oversee all event logistics, including design, registration, communication, travel, hospitality, food & beverage, production, and content delivery.
  • Implement and manage the relationship with key event-technology providers (Cvent, On24), ensuring cutting edge technology is used to continually innovate event offerings, improve communication, and enhance attendee experience, ultimately supporting the firm’s growth and reputation in the markets we serve.
  • Manage event budgets, negotiate and execute contracts, and ensure compliance with internal policies and business line items.
  • Establish and refine frameworks and playbooks to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational excellence across regions.
  • Define and measure event success through KPIs and analytics (e.g., client engagement, ROI, satisfaction scores).
  • Leverage data insights to continuously improve planning, attendee experience, and business impact. Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on event performance and alignment with strategic goals.

Innovation and Creativity:

  • Bring forward new ideas as to how we can bring the Lord Abbett brand to life through innovative experiences that support our firm and brand strategy.
  • Elevate the brand experience with distinctive programs that engage clients, employees, and executives.
  • Challenge the ways things have been done with new potential partnerships that enhance efficiency or improve the experience.
  • Drive continuous innovation -- staying on the pulse of event industry trends and best practices, ensuring the latest advancements are creatively integrated into planning and execution.

You'll need to have:

  • 10+ years of event management experience, ideally in the financial services/asset management industry
  • Proven track record of leading high touch events and managing high performing teams
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution of events for a global firm
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and vendors
  • High level of professionalism and client service orientation
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools  (e.g., Cvent, On24)
