The Role

Lord Abbett is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Private Credit Operations team. This role will be critical in supporting the middle and back-office functions for the firm’s private credit investments, including loan operations, trade settlement, data integrity, fund reporting, and third-party coordination.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Support the full trade lifecycle for private credit transactions (e.g., bilateral loans, syndicated loans, revolvers, delayed draw term loans, structured credit instruments).
  • Coordinate and review loan closings and capital activity with internal deal teams, fund accountants, administrators, custodians, and agent banks.
  • Track and reconcile cash flows related to interest payments, amortization schedules, capital calls/distributions, fees, and paydowns.
  • Maintain accurate investment data in internal systems, including position-level details, pricing, and credit terms.
  • Liaise with external service providers including fund administrators, loan agents, custodians, and technology vendors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new investments and counterparties, including KYC and operational setup.
  • Collaborate with investment, finance, and legal/compliance teams to streamline workflows and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and investor reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation, and technology initiatives aimed at scaling operations and reducing risk.
  • Oversight of daily operations activities at external service providers to ensure timely and accurate asset servicing on internal and third-party platforms.  This will include the setup of new issuer/deal records, credit facilities/securities, new trade booking, guideline monitoring, lifecycle activity, corporate actions, collateral & covenant monitoring, reconciliations, and final disposition of all portfolio holdings

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in credit operations, loan servicing, middle office, or fund administration (private credit, direct lending, or syndicated loans preferred).
  • Understanding of private credit instruments, legal documentation, and the loan settlement process.
  • Excellent Excel skills; comfort working with large datasets and reconciling across systems.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively across teams and with external counterparties.
  • Familiarity with CLOs, BDCs, or structured credit vehicles is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or SQL is a plus.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $95,000 - $110,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
