The Role

Lord Abbett is seeking an Investment Operations Associate to support our Operations team as the firm focuses on key growth initiatives while building scale across Investment Operations functions.  The successful candidate will partner with functional owners across the team to assist in Oversight of our Strategic Service Provider, enhance operating models to build scale and mitigate risk and support daily Investment Operations functions.  Key responsibilities include becoming proficient in Investment Operations tasks across multiple domains including, but not limited to, Trade and Collateral Management, Bank Loans, Corporate Actions, Reconciliations, Cash Management, and Data Integrity.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Engage with functional subject matter experts to learn Investment Operations Oversight and supporting tasks as well as taking ownership of agreed upon processes
  • Monitor end-to-end trade flow activity, engaging with strategic supplier to work through issues as they arise
  • Review Investment Operations process workflows & procedure documentation; updating accordingly
  • Identify areas of process risk and make recommendations for improvements
  • Draft and communicate business requirements, perform testing and support go-live for various upgrades & process improvements
  • Review data integrity exceptions, update systems accordingly and communicate as needed
  • Liaise with Portfolio Management and Trading on inquiries raised

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field
  • 0 - 3 years of Operations experience within Financial services
  • Working knowledge of Investment products, market operations and trade lifecycle
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong technical skills including MS Office suite, Investment Technology such as Bloomberg, CharlesRiver, other programming skills (SQL, Python, etc.) a plus
  • Takes initiative applying a sense of ownership with persistence to meet tight deadlines
  • Applies critical thinking in bringing efficient and risk-controlled solutions
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels, internal and externally

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $95,000 - $105,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
