The Role

Lord Abbett’s product management team leads the development and implementation of strategies to ensure the commercial success of our products throughout their lifecycle and across distribution channels. The team is comprised of Product Managers responsible for “end-to-end” ownership of the product lifecycle, including the development and execution of product growth plans, as well as Product Specialists who focus on ensuring that our products are, and remain, “market ready” through the development of compelling narratives, relevant portfolio applications, and impactful collateral.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of growth plans to drive the commercial success of Lord Abbett’s alternative credit products, including Opportunistic Credit, Private Credit, and CLO management
  • Collaborate with Lord Abbett’s Product Strategists, Market Strategists, and investment professionals in the development of new alternatives products
  • Leverage portfolio-level expertise to craft thought leadership and product training
  • Lead development of impactful product content, including RFP content and database language
  • Selectively engage with prospective clients as part of Lord Abbett’s ongoing fundraising/platforming efforts

We’ll trust you to:

  • Develop, communicate, and lead implementation of product growth plans to achieve commercial success, including operational readiness, market readiness, platform availability and endorsements, and go-to-market strategies
  • Own the tracking and real-time reporting of KPIs for each product growth plan; brief executive leadership on progress towards plan objectives on an ongoing basis
  • Drive the strategy for and contribute to the thought leadership strategy for our products
  • Author content that drives the sales process, including language that will be leveraged for RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and consultant databases
  • Lead product-specific sales trainings across all markets
  • Collaborate with Lord Abbett’s Product Strategists, Market Strategists, and investment professionals on new product development initiatives, including scoping and development of new products/vehicles and optimizing our product pricing (including terms for bespoke partnerships)
  • Selectively engage with prospective clients during the product development and fundraising processes

You'll need to have:

  • 15 years of experience in the asset management industry, with a minimum of 10 years in product management/strategy roles
  • Fluency in alternative credit investment strategies, including private credit and CLO management
  • Understanding of various alternative investment vehicles, including private funds, registered funds, and capital-efficient structures
  • Experience creating effective product and capital markets-related content, including strong content creation skills to drive development of pitchbooks and bespoke materials across multiple media formats
  • Track record of motivating cross-functional teams to pursue well-defined objectives
  • The ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear, concise, and effective manner
  • Poise, outstanding work ethic, and the ability to execute with urgency
  • Strong presentation and client engagement skills
  • Situational adaptability and organizational savvy
  • Comfort operating in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Series 7 and Series 24 preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree or relevant industry designation preferred (e.g. CFA, CAIA)

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $250,000 - $280,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
