Job Overview:

 

Lord Abbett seeks a motivated and experienced individual to join its Fixed Income group as a CLO Structuring and Capital Markets Associate.  The Associate would contribute to the launch of the Firm’s CLO management franchise. This individual will be part of the Bank Loan Team and will interact with investment and client service professionals across the firm.  The role will include an opportunity to start on the ground floor of a new and exciting growth initiative while operating in a flat and dynamic team setting.  In addition to contributing to the growth and management of the firm’s CLO management business, it is expected that this role will also involve new product development, fund raising, and client interaction.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Engage with CLO Arranging Banks, Legal Counsel and Investors to assist in the structuring and execution of Lord Abbett’s CLOs
    • Lead responsibility for deal modeling and forecasting
    • CLO Warehouse set-up and approval
    • Assist Lead PM(s) with all CLO primary, reset and refinancing activity
    • Help manage all counterparty relationships
  • Work with Lead PMs and Client Services in all CLO marketing efforts, coordinate and document investor outreach and activity
  • Review and opine on legal documentation, respond to ad-hoc investor requests and resolve document stipulations between various stake holders
  • Assist in all internal support for the deployment and execution of Lord Abbett’s CLO Management Program
    • Tracking performance
    • Industry analytics, comparable analysis and benchmarking
    • Seeking appropriate approvals
    • Fund investor correspondence
  • Lead the organizational upkeep of all CLO Manager related databases
    • Deal documents
    • Marketing materials, DDQs, Correspondence, etc.
    • Legal records
    • CLO Equity Fund level information

You'll need to have:

  • 2-5 years of experience in CLO structuring within investment banking or asset management
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline preferred
  • Understanding of CLO structuring, rating agency methodology and comfort with legal documentation
  • Experience with IntexCalc, Intex DealMaker, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Self-starter, resourceful, with an ability to complete tasks with limited oversight
  • Comfort operating in dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to interact with a variety of groups and professionals across disciplines
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, communication and presentation skills

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $125,000 - $175,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
