Job Overview:

The Alternatives/Control Room Compliance Associate is responsible for assisting with the alternative business compliance program and ensuring the firm’s control room function adequately addressing the handling of confidential or non-public information and related conflicts.  The role will also review and update policies and procedures and help support other investment and trading related initiatives from a compliance perspective.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Contribute to the development of compliance related oversight and procedures associated with the firm’s growing alternatives business.
  • Manage the firm’s Restricted and Watch lists inclusive of applying the appropriate trading restrictions within the firm’s various order management and personal trading systems.
  • Conduct chaperoning and monitoring of communications (electronic, voice and/or in person) in accordance with relevant firm policies.
  • Perform initial transaction conflict checks to identify any potential conflicts of interest between the firm’s alternative and traditional businesses.
  • Provide advice to business partners regarding alternative products, including the development and delivery of compliance training.
  • Assist with the ongoing monitoring of Code of Ethics related activities including personal trading.
  • Work with senior members of various functional areas to address regulatory change management pertaining to the alternatives business.
  • Assist with other day-to-day compliance tasks carried out by the investment compliance team

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in asset management compliance or a related field
  • Strong understanding of investment regulations, conflict identification and management
  • Knowledge of alternative products (e.g. private credit) and their various wrappers including private funds, BDCs, and CLO/CBOs
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software programs

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $150,000 - $200,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
