  • What's the role?

    Lord Abbett software engineers develop impactful solitions to complex problems. Our engineers work on small, well balanced agile teams alongside business users to build products utilized by leading business experts and investment professionals. We release high quality software often, which encourages our teams to follow lean development principles and work together to build and deploy these systems. 

     

    Our training will teach you tools and technology concepts through tech talks, and coding katas. You'll experience a culture of experimentation, learn new technologies and grow as a software engineer. 

     

     

    You'll get to tackle tough business challenges: 

    • In digital marketing, we are looking to muliply our sales force to bring revenue by providing a first in class personalized UI experience
    • Work side by side with our users to build and innovate financial products through constant user feedback
    • Create new business opportunities by building new capabilities
    • Understand and deeply focus on the real-world benefit your systems and products will have on our customers and users  

    We are considering candidates for our Winter (January 2019) and Summer (July 2019) classes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Have a strong command of fundamental algorithms and data structures
    • Have a passion for software engineering and want to deliver software that adds value to the organization
    • Want to help the team and organization move faster
    • Undrestand the value of testing
    • Are a strong team player as you will need to work cross functionally with internal technical teams and external partner teams
    • Are driven by, and have a bias toward autonomy; you'll be given a lot of context on the problems we're trying to solve, but you'll need to figure out how to solve them
    • We do not build legacy software
    • Be invested in the long-term view; while we need to deliver value this month and this quarter, we need to avoid technical debt and other forms of unncessary complications that will hinder us in the future

    Qualifications:

    • December 2018 or May 2019 graduate
    • Master's Degree preferred, Bachelor's candidates accepted
    • Java, Python, React, Posgres, SOA, AWS, Linux, Hadoop
    • Most commonly used languages right now, but we ensure to keep our technology current
