Job Description:


The role is responsible for supporting Lord Abbett’s proxy voting and engagement function. Duties include vote execution, policy development and client reporting. The role requires problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review, analyze and vote proxies in accordance with Lord Abbett’s Proxy Voting Policies and Procedures
  • Interact with portfolio managers and analysts to communicate policies and assist with recommendations regarding proxy voting and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues
  • Assist with reporting for PRI and other stewardship codes
  • Collect and analyze voting and engagement statistics
  • Serve as primary contact for Lord Abbett’s proxy vendor
  • Interact with legal, compliance and client services in crafting materials concerning proxy voting and other ESG related content



  • 5-7 years’ experience, preferably with a focus on proxy voting, corporate governance, executive compensation or portfolio company engagement
  • Understanding of the operational issues associated with proxy voting
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and high volumes while meeting stringent deadlines
  • Capable of distilling complex corporate governance related information from public company documents
  • Familiarity with SEC filings including form N-PX
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office applications
