    Lord Abbett is seeking a Senior Storage / Linux Engineer to design and deploy storage solutions and drive the evolution of existing systems. The Senior Storage Engineer will work as port of a multi-faceted team to build end-to-end solutions and will be engaged throughout the entire project lifecycle.

    Include but are not limited to:

    • Working with team to design, architect, plan deploy and maintain various storage solutions to meet business needs
    • Identify and implement improvement that will contribute to enhaced process and procedure maturity within the team
    • Lead and take responsibility for production stroage system dvelopment from requirements to release, including detailed design, analysis testing and optimization
    • Provide leadership for the development of operational and strategic direction for storate software and hardware
    • Plan and implement storage hardware/software upgrades and migrations
    • Lead efforts to leverage metrics in the management of storage arrays to drive improvement and performance
    • Collaborate with other technology groups to provide technical, operational and innovative expertise
    • Take ownership and maintain user requests and issues
    • Available as necessary for 24/7 environment, including weekends




    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
    • 4+ years of experience in SAN and NAS infrastructure management, including storage array migrations, and ability to troubleshoot SAN and NAS problems. As well as SAN / NAS provisioning, expansion and reclaims.
    • Experience with Red Hat or other Enterprise Linux Distribution
    • Experience with Linux in a mixed storage environment
    • Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Pacemaker Clusters and Centrify
    • Scripting knowledge such as PowerShell, Python, Perl, Unix shell
    • Experience with command line and GUI management for various storage systems
    • Hands-on experience with Brocade and Cisco director level fiber switches, SAN zones, SAN topology, FC fabrics, ISLs
    • Extensive knowledge of Del EMC RecoverPoint and other remote replication products
    • Experience with Data Domain
    • Extensive knowledge of Dell EMC XtremeIO, snapshots, consistency groups, volume mapping
    • Extensive  knowledge of NetApp Clustered OnTAP 9, CIFS/SMB, NFS, virus scanning, FPolicy, OnCommand Unified Manager, performance analysis
    • Experience with automation of storage tasks related to Disaster Recovery and snapshots
    • Experience in performance analysis and metrics reports
    • Experience in events monitoring, call-home configuration, email alert setup, SNMP trap forwarding
    • Extensive knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies and operational norms across both storage and systems technologies
